   1753: Linnaeus described this species as Salicornia arabica in Species Plantarum, 1st ed., p. 3 of Ray Society 1957 facsimile.
   Today: The current name for this species is Kalidium caspicum (L.) Ung.-Sternb.

Salicornia articulis obtusis basi incrassatis, spicis ovatis.
