During the history of the town of Alfred, there have been three post offices.

Briefly, the history of these three is as follows:

2. Gore post office opened on 29 July 1897 and closed on 31 August 1903.
3. North Alfred post office opened on 29 August 1861 and closed on 5 June 1871.
