Postmarks from the town of Solon include:
South Solon

1818 February 14:
Solon post office opened. (source: Maine Philatelic Society. 1995. The Post Offices of Maine: A Rarity Guide.)

1889 December 2:
The circular postmark is 27–28 mm in diameter.

1910 October 18 through 1911 January 2:
The circular postmark is approximately 28 mm in diameter. (Other postmarks from late 1910 [after October 18] ranged from 27 to 28 mm.) The only observed difference between these cancellations and the two below (1932 October 10 through 1934 May 9) is the difference in the diameter of the circle. Postmarks from intermediate dates may shed light on this difference.

1932 October 10 through 1934 May 28:
The circular postmark is approximately 29 mm in diameter.

1939 December 9:
The circular postmark is approximately 30 mm in diameter.

Solon post office is still in operation.
