During the history of the town of Albany Township, there have been five post offices.

Briefly, the history of these five is as follows:
1. Albany (1) post office opened on 9 January 1815 and closed on 31 October 1905.
2. Albany (2) post office never opened (11 April 1917–11 April 1917).
3. Lynchville post office opened on 14 August 1882 and closed on 24 June 1895.
4. North Albany post office opened on 9 June 1849 and closed on 3 December 1867.
4. South Albany post office opened on 4 May 1848 and closed on 27 January 1849.
