During the history of the town of Readfield, there have been six post offices.

Briefly, the history of these six is as follows:
1. East Readfield post office opened on 18 February 1828, closed on 25 July 1857, re-opened on 27 November 1857, and closed on 16 December 1870.
2. Kents Hill post office was established on 11 December 1826 and is still operating.
3. Maranacook post office opened on 19 June 1891, closed on 19 January 1942, re-opened on 5 September 1942, and closed on 30 June 1955.
4. Readfield (1) post office opened on 24 August 1797, and closed on 14 July 1803, re-opened/renamed on 2 August 1803 was Readville post office. Readville post office was renamed in 1811 as Readfield (2) post office, which is still operating.
5. Readfield Depot post office operated from 19 February 1851 until 18 June 1976.
6. Sanborndale post office operated from 28 May 1883 until 25 March 1887.

   The circular postmark is 31–33 mm in diameter. The outside vertical height of the four horizontal bars to the right of the circle is 18–19 mm.
