During the history of the town of Benton, there have been four post offices.

Briefly, the history of these four is as follows:
1. On 11 May 1842, Clinton (1) post office became renamed as Sebasticook post office, which in turn became renamed as Benton post office. Benton post office closed on 7 February 1907, reopened on 28 February 1907, and closed on 29 February 1956.
2. Benton Falls post office opened on 31 May 1878 and closed on 31 January 1914.
3. Benton Station post office opened on 27 January 1888 and closed on 13 April 1973.
4. East Benton post office was established on 5 August 1858 and was renamed as Preston Corner post office on 28 December 1887. Preston Corner post office was renamed as East Benton post office on 29 May 1891 and under the latter name closed on 30 June 1903.

   The circular postmark is 27–28 mm in diameter.
      

1907 February 7:

1888 January 27:

1954 December 24:
   The circular postmark is 31–32 mm in diameter. The four horizontal bars to the right of the circle are approximately 5 mm apart on center.
