During the history of the town of Oakfield, there have been two post offices.

Briefly, the history of these two is as follows:
1. Burleigh post office was established on 12 February 1894. It was renamed on 2 December 1912 as Oakfield (2) and is still operating.
2. Oakfield (1) post office opened on 14 June 1872, closed on 22 December 1894, re-opened on 16 October 1897, and closed on 30 April 1909.

1894 February 12:

   The circular postmark is approximately 32 mm in diameter.
      

1912 December 2:
