During the history of the town of Mars Hill, there have been two post offices.

Briefly, the history of these two is as follows:
1. Mars Hill (1) post office was established on 6 June 1854, and on 21 September 1861 it was renamed as Alva post office (in Blaine).
2. Mars Hill (2) post office opened on 31 December 1861 and is still operating.

In 1914, there only one post office in Mars Hill: Mars Hill (2). (source: Post Route Map of the State of Maine 1914)
