The spelling of this surname changed over time from McMullin to Mullin. The headstone for Francis and Mary and son Frank spelled the name with the "Mc". Stones for sons Fred P. and Austin B., who died prior to Francis, Mary, and Frank, spelled the name Mullin. Note the use of "Mac" in the 1880 census (below) for Francis, Mary, and Frank, but not for daughters May and Lucy.Census Data
