Note
Andrew Alonzo Lopaus was called "Andrew A. Lopaus Jr." in the 1850 census, the "Jr. apparently the creation of the census taker, and "Andrew A. Lopaus" in the 1860 census. Later census records and his memorial stone in Hillrest Cemetery (in Tremont, Hancock County, Maine) reported his name as "Alonzo A.". He apparently used his middle name to differentiate himself from his father, Andrew L. Lopaus.Census Data
