Description: 100 acres
beginning at a birch tree that stands at the shore between said [John] Manchester and Samuel Hadlock;
thence running first N 78.5° E; 162 rods to a small spruce tree;
then S 10° W 160 rods to a small fir tree;
then N 80° W 70 rods to the bay;
then following the shore to the first mentioned bound.
Note: There is a 0.5° discrepancy between the compass direction in the deed of Samuel Hadlock (1:412–413; N 78° E) and the compass direction of the same boundary line in this deed (N 78.5° E).
