      Beginning at a stake and stone, being the bound between Stephen Higgins 2nd and Amos Richardson;
      running S 45° W 374 rods to a cedar tree;
      then S 45° E 44 rods to a spruce tree;
      then N 45° E to the shore;
      then following the shore to the first mentioned bound.
   Note: Asa Higgins used this parcel as collateral for a mortgage (72 :372–373; January 1842) with James Hamor. The discharge was recorded in the margin of 72:373 and was reported to have been on 31 January 1852.

   Description: 4 acres, more or less.
      Commencing on the east side of the county road leading from Bar Harbor to Hulls Cove on the line between my [Asa Higgins’s homestead lot and lot occupied by John Woodbury at a stake and stone;
      then runs following said line according to my [Asa Higgins’s deed from James and Clarissa Hamor and dated 15 March 1833, N 45° E but by compass this day N 49° E 49 rods to a stake and stone at the shore;
      then following said shore southerly about 13 rods or far enough to make 12 rods on a line at right angle with the side lines to a stake and stone;
      Then S 49° W by compass to the above-named road to a stake and stone;
      then following said road northerly 13 rods and 3 links or 12 rods on a square to the first-mentioned bound.
