The deed found in book 1 on pages 445–446 covered two parcels on the Peters Plan: B17 (first lot) and B24 (second lot). The transaction below follows the transfer of parcel B17, the first lot.


1:445–446
   Date: 28 March 1792
   Town: Bar Harbor
   Grantors: Bartholomy DeGregoire and Maria Theresa DeGregoire
   Grantee: Elkanah Young
   Description: 2 lots: 75 acres, 106 [square] rods and 24 acres, 114 [square] rods; both lots shown on Peters Plan
      first lot (75 acres, 106 [square] rods):
         begin at the fence between Ebenezer Salisbury and Elkanah Young;
         run first S 22.5° E 180 rods to a fir tree;
         then S 56.25° E 90 rods;
         then N 22.5° W to the shore;
         then following the shore to the first mentioned bound.
      second lot (24 acres, 114 [square] rods):
         begin at a maple tree, the bound between Elkanah Young and Henry Knowles;
         run first S 33° W 134 rods to a fir stake;
         then S 56.25° E 41 rods to a poplar tree;
         then N 45° E 100 rods to the shore;
         then following the shore to the first bound.
   Grantors obtained this parcel via: grant from the General Court of Massachusetts
   Grantee disposed of the first lot of this parcel via 9:254–256

   Date: 27 April 1801
   Town: Bar Harbor
   Grantor: Elkanah Young
   Grantees: Ephraim Salisbury and Ebenezer Salisbury Jr.
   Description: 75 acres, 106 [square] rods (= the “first lot” of 1:445–446 above)
      Beginning at the fence between Ebenezer Salisbury and Elkanah Young;
      running first S 22.5° E 180 rods to a fir tree;
      then S 56.25° E 90 rods;
      then N 22.5° W to the shore;
      then following the shore to the first mentioned bound.
   Note: This deed conveyed the land described above “together with all the buildings thereunto belonging with fences and every other percusit except a shoe-maker's shop reserved for the Reverend James Covel which is to be removed by him anytime when it is his pleasure to do the same without the interruption of any person”
