Archbold Cottage, located on the west side of Cleftstone Road, burned in the fire of 1947.

1902 November 8: Land purchased by Anne M. Archbold from Charles T. How (Hancock County Registry of Deeds book 382, pages 528–531.

1904: Cottage constructed by Edward B. Mears. The following article appeared in the Bar Harbor Record, Wednesday, 30 March 1904, page 1, columns 3 and 4:
