(updated 1 August 2011)

Location. Along west side of Route 102, near mouth of Cousins Creek (emptying into Bass Harbor). UTM: 19T 0551259, 4899794; Lat./Long.: N 44°14′58.5″ x W 68°21′28.6″

Directions. From the intersection of Routes 3 and 102/198 at the north end of Mount Desert Island, go straight ahead (south) onto Routes 102/198. In approximately 5.2 miles (and at the south end of the village of Somesville), turn right onto Pretty Marsh Road (Route 102). The cemetery is on the left in about 11.5–11.6 miles. There is good parking in a pull out across Route 102.

History. The cemetery is on land that was part of a 160-acre parcel owned by Stephen Richardson in 1808 according to the Salem Towne Jr. map.

Notes. A new (2000) chain link fence borders this cemetery on three sides. There is also evidence of a previous fence—about a half dozen rocks along the side of the cemetery nearest the road have iron rods, now broken and rusting, driven into them. The grass is mowed and trimmed. A once very tall monument for several members of the RICH family is now broken into several pieces.

Names and dates on gravestones and other markers. (complete as of 30 November 2008)
