Location. UTM: 19T 0547443, 4904091; Lat./Long.: N 44°17′18.7″ x W 68°24′19.3″

Directions. From the intersection of Routes 3 and 102/198 at the north end of Mount Desert Island, go straight ahead (south) onto Routes 102/198. In approximately 5.2 miles (and at the south end of the village of Somesville), turn right onto Pretty Marsh Road (Route 102). Travel on Route 102 about 7.1–7.2 miles to an old woods road on the right. Follow this woods road (on foot) to several large stones on the right. Turn right after these stones and follow a wide trail. Watch on the left, about 55 feet after passing through a break in a stone wall, for a trail that cuts slightly back. Follow this trail to the cemetery.

History. This cemetery is on land that was part of a 100-acre parcel owned by William Heath in 1808 according to the Salem Towne Jr. map.

Notes. Until 2000, this cemetery was completely overgrown. Both the cemetery proper and an old woods road and path leading to it (and beyond) were cleared of large, woody vegetation. The cemetery is not enclosed, but a stone wall runs along two sides.

Names and dates on gravestones and other markers. (complete as of 9 April 2008)
