Location.

Directions. From the intersection of Routes 3 and 102/198 at the north end of Mount Desert Island, go straight ahead (south) onto Routes 102/198. In approximately 5.2 miles (and at the south end of the village of Somesville), turn right onto Pretty Marsh Road (Route 102). Travel on Route 102 about 7.7–7.8 miles, and turn right onto Rumill Road. The tomb is in the woods beyond the detached garage of the large white house on the right.

History.

Notes. This tomb is located in woods with no cleared area around it. Following some vandalism, it was sealed to prevent further entry.

Names and dates on gravestones and other markers. (complete as of 19 March 2000)
There are no names engraved on any visible portion of this tomb.1

Note:
   1According to a former owner of the property adjacent to that containing the tomb and who was also the great great granddaughter of Wills CARVER, the tomb contains the remains of Wills CARVER, Nancy (his first wife), and Albert CARVER.
