Location: UTM: 19T 0555067, 4901619; Lat./Long.: N 44°15′56.6″ x W 68°18′36.3″

Directions: From the intersection of Routes 3 and 102/198 at the north end of Mount Desert Island, go straight ahead (south) onto Routes 102/198. In approximately 11.3–11.4 miles (about 0.8 miles of which are south of the blinking light in the village of Southwest Harbor), turn left onto Route 102A. The church and cemetery are on the right in about 0.8–0.9 miles.

History: A deed (Hancock County Registry of Deeds book 54, page 500; 10 January 1831) from Nicholas Tucker to the Committee for the [church?] Proprietors referred to the “Burying-ground”. Mrs. Seth Thornton in her 1938 book Traditions and Records: Southwest Harbor and Somesville noted that during “the summer of 1934 this churchyard was cleared of bushes and underbrush by the boys of the C C C camp, Company 158.”

Notes: Stones in this cemetery are generally in poorer condition—both in readability and in position—than stones in most other cemeteries in the area. This cemetery is enclosed by a post and rail fence with one space between a pair of adjacent posts for an entrance/exit. Except for two rails that are broken, the fence is in good condition.

Notes:
   1Stone worn and/or broken.
2The names of Bryant and Louisa D. HODGKINS are on one side of a large stone that is laying on the ground, thereby obscuring any name(s) and date(s) that may be on the other side.
   3Different on different stones.
4Donald Colton Esty said in his 1983 book Greening's Island that Philip Langly is “in an unmarked grave back of the old white church at Manset. The location of the grave is known to several persons and it is hoped that someday it may be suitably marked.” (p. 9)
