Location. Along north side of Bartlett Landing Road, Pretty Marsh. UTM: 19T 0547692, 4910045; Lat./Long.: N 44°20′31.6″ x W 68°24′6.1″

Directions. From the intersection of Routes 3 and 102/198 at the north end of Mount Desert Island, go straight ahead (south) onto Routes 102/198. In approximately 5.2 miles (and at the south end of the village of Somesville), turn right onto Pretty Marsh Road. Travel 3.5 miles to the intersection with Indian Point Road on the right. Take Indian Point Road 0.2–0.3 miles to a three-way stop. Bear left onto Bartlett Landing Road, and the cemetery is on the right in approximately 0.1–0.2 miles.

History. An 1893 deed (Hancock County Registry of Deeds book 273, pages 308–310) gave the “inhabitants of the Village of Pretty Marsh” an addition of “thirty two square rods more or less” to an extant and fenced in Pretty Marsh Cemetery. No earlier deed to Pretty Marsh inhabitants was found in the index books of the Hancock County Registry of Deeds. The Pretty Marsh Cemetery Corporation was established on 18 November 1938 “to promote the interests of the Pretty Marsh Cemetery”. During the next year (1939) (671:309–310), a 3400-square-foot addition was deeded to “The Pretty Marsh Cemetery Association”, and in 1982 (1425:544–545), another addition was made to the cemetery.
