Location. Set back from south side of Pretty Marsh Road (Route 102). UTM: 19T 0550474, 4911332; Lat./Long.: N 44°21′12.6″ x W 68°22′0.0″

Directions. From the intersection of Routes 3 and 102/198 at the north end of Mount Desert Island, go straight ahead (south) onto Routes 102/198. In approximately 5.2 miles (and at the south end of the village of Somesville), turn right onto Pretty Marsh Road. The cemetery is on the left in about 1.6–1.7 miles.

History. This cemetery is on land that was part of lot #110, a 138 acre parcel, on the 1808 Salem Towne Jr. map. The cemetery is nearly rectangular and contains approximately 4200 square feet. Hancock County Registry of Deeds planbook 16, page 77 contains a map.

Notes. In addition to several traditional gravestones, there are seven wooden crosses, each bearing a plaque with an individual's name and birth and death dates. Also, there is a large stone with "Kenison" on one side and the names of 16 people with their age at death on the other side. The cemetery is enclosed by a northern white-cedar post and rail fence. The entrance consists of a swinging gate bearing the letter K formed by natural pieces of white-cedar cut to size and an arch containing the name Kenison spelled out in a similar manner. As of 29 July 2007 the stone bearing the name of Samuel Kenison was laying face down and was broken at a seam of previous repair.
